Blurb (from Goodreads):

So when her beloved sister, Rose, mysteriously vanishes. she ignores her parents and travels to London to find her, accompanied by the dashing Mr. Kent. But they're not the only ones looking for Rose. The reclusive young gentleman Sebastian Braddock is also searching for her, claiming that both sisters have special healing powers. My rating: 3 of 5 stars

These Vicious MasksThis was a YA historical/fantasy story, about a girl trying to find her kidnapped sister.

Evelyn was an okay character, and it was obvious how much she cared for her sister. I liked the way that she saw clues where other people didn’t, and I liked her she wasn’t afraid to stand up and say so as well.

The storyline in this was about Evelyn’s sister Rose being kidnapped by a man believing her to have special healing powers, and Evelyn setting out to try and find rescue her. We also got the fantasy angle of certain people having some interesting supernatural powers, and a bit of a love triangle popping up as well (although there wasn’t that much romance in the book).

The ending to this was a bit sad, and I wasn’t all that impressed with the end to the romance storyline either.

  1. Sorry you weren't more of a fan. I won this one awhile back but haven't gotten around to reading it yet. This doesn't inspire me to change that ... maybe one of these days.
