Bully (Fall Away #1) by Penelope Douglas

Bully (Fall Away, #1)
Blurb (from Goodreads) :
My name is Tate. He doesn't call me that, though. He would never refer to me so informally, if he referred to me at all. No, he'll barely even speak to me.

But he still won't leave me alone.

We were best friends once. Then he turned on me and made it his mission to ruin my life. I've been humiliated, shut out, and gossiped about all through high school. His pranks and rumors got more sadistic as time wore on, and I made myself sick trying to stay out of his way. I even went to France for a year, just to avoid him.

But I'm done hiding from him now, and there's no way in hell I'll allow him to ruin my senior year. He might not have changed, but I have. It's time to fight back.

I'm not going to let him bully me anymore.

***This novel contains adult/mature young adult situations. It is only suitable for ages 18+ due to language, violence, and sexual situations.

Bully (Fall Away, #1)(Source: I own a copy of this book.)

This was an enjoyable NA contemporary romance and I’m really glad I read it!

I liked Tate, and I liked how she tried to keep it together even when Jared was being so awful to her. I hate bullying, and Jared and his friend Madoc were really, really awful to her! It hurts even more when it’s someone who you used to be close to who is bullying you because it feels like they know what you’re like and hate you even more.

The storyline in this was pretty good. I was a little concerned at the way Tate was being bullied, and I was concerned about her starting a relationship with Jared, but because it took so long for them to actually get together, it seemed like Jared had an opportunity to show his character a bit before Tate needed to trust him.
The romance in this was pretty steamy, and because there were some sex scenes this is definitely aimed at the higher end of YA/NA books! The romance was really good though, and even I liked Jared by the end of this book!

The ending to this was really, really good! There was an event thrown in there that I really wasn’t expecting, and it really livened things up! So good! Really looking forward to the other books in this series now!
Overall; steamy, NA contemporary romance,
8 out of 10.

  1. Love your review! I hate bullying too so naturally I'd be concerned about the character having a relationship but I'm glad that it turned out really well in the end! I want to read it now!! Thank you.
