Since You've Been Gone by Morgan Matson

Since You've Been Gone
Blurb (from Goodreads):
It was Sloane who yanked Emily out of her shell and made life 100% interesting. But right before what should have been the most epic summer, Sloane just...disappears. All she leaves behind is a to-do list.

On it, thirteen Sloane-inspired tasks that Emily would normally never try. But what if they could bring her best friend back?

Apple picking at night?
Okay, easy enough.

Dance until dawn?
Sure. Why not?

Kiss a stranger?

Emily now has this unexpected summer, and the help of Frank Porter (totally unexpected), to check things off Sloane's list. Who knows what she'll find?

Go skinny-dipping?

Since You've Been Gone(Source: I own a copy of this book.)
This was an okay story, but it felt really long.

Emily was an okay character, and I did feel a bit sorry for her that her only friend had disappeared. She did seem to do quite well to find new friends all things considered, but she seemed a bit clueless when it came to Frank.

The storyline in this had promise, but it was just too long. The story was dragged out for so long, and there was so much stuff in there that didn’t move the story along that I got bored. I wanted her to complete the list, get with Frank, and find out what happened to Sloane, but I wanted it to happen quicker!
There wasn’t much romance in this, although it was obvious to me that Frank liked her as more than a friend. Emily didn’t seem to notice at all though, which was slightly puzzling.
The end to this was okay, and I was glad with the way things turned out, it just seemed to take a long while to get there though.
