Dangerous Girls by Abigail Haas (Pseudonym), Abby McDonald

Dangerous Girls
Blurb (From Goodreads):
It's Spring Break of senior year. Anna, her boyfriend Tate, her best friend Elise, and a few other close friends are off to a debaucherous trip to Aruba that promises to be the time of their lives. But when Elise is found brutally murdered, Anna finds herself trapped in a country not her own, fighting against vile and contemptuous accusations.

As Anna sets out to find her friend's killer; she discovers hard truths about her friendships, the slippery nature of truth, and the ache of young love.

As she awaits the judge's decree, it becomes clear that everyone around her thinks she is not just guilty, but dangerous. When the truth comes out, it is more shocking than one could ever imagine...

Dangerous Girls(Source: I own a copy of this book.)

This was a great mystery/thriller, and we were kept guessing right up to the end!

I liked Anna and I felt really sorry for her, first she had to deal with bullying, then she lost her best friend, and then she got arrested for murder! Talk about a tough time of it! How she managed to hold on when her friends had all turned against her, and she was stuck in prison I don’t know.

The storyline in this was pretty good, although it did have its slow moments. The mystery over what really happened kept going strong right up until the end, and I was constantly trying to work out what was going on, who had really killed Elise, and whether Anna really was innocent or not! I really did not want to put this down to go to sleep because I wanted to know what happened so badly!
There was a little romance but not a lot. It was a bit of a side-story which fitted in well with the overall plot, and it didn’t take over the story.

The ending to this was pretty good. It wasn’t a 100% concrete ending, but we were given enough information to work things out, and boy was it an interesting conclusion!
Overall; great YA murder-mystery story,
7.25 out of 10.
