Altered (Crewel World #2) by Gennifer Albin

Altered (Crewel World, #2)
Blurb (from Goodreads):
Life. Possibility. Choice.
All taken from Adelice by the Guild—until she took them back.

But amid the splendid ruins of Earth, Adelice discovers how dangerous freedom can be. Hunted by soulless Remnants sent by Cormac Patton and the Guild, Adelice finds a world that’s far from deserted. Although allies are easy to find on Earth, knowing who to trust isn’t. Because everyone has secrets, especially those Adelice loves most. Secrets they would kill to protect. Secrets that will redefine each of them. Torn between two brothers and two worlds, Adelice must choose what to fight for.

In this thrilling sequel to Crewel, Adelice is about to learn how tangled up her past and future really are. Her parents ran to protect her, but nothing can save her from her destiny, and once she uncovers the truth, it will change everything.

My rating: 3.5 of 5 stars

Altered (Crewel World, #2)(Source: I own a copy of this book.)
Adelice, Jost, and Eric are now on Earth, and must work out what their next steps are.
How long before people come looking for Adelice though? And is there a way for her to use her skills to their advantage?

This was a good sequel, and even though it did have its slow moments, it also had some surprises.

Adelice had some strong moments and some slightly silly moments in this book. Trying to use her powers for good – strong, exchanging an emerald earring for an old book – kinda silly.

The storyline in this was quite interesting, although it did have its slow moments. There were several major shocks along the way though, and some really surprising twists, several of which I really didn’t see coming!
There was some romance, but it was once again in the form of a love triangle, and Adelice really didn’t seem able to make a choice at all.
The ending was good, and again there were plenty of surprises, it will be interesting to see how this all ends!
Overall; good sequel with lots of surprises,
7 out of 10.
