Death is but a Dream
Blurb (from Goodreads):
Caught between life and death, all Callie wants is to live again.

Homicide detective Callie Saunders knows that death isn’t all pearly gates and angels. After being hit by a bus, she finds that it's the ancient gods and goddesses of Greek mythology who are in charge of everything.

So when Hades offers her a deal, she accepts. If she wants to be brought back to life, she’ll have to figure out who is trying to kill his son. But if she fails, both her soul and the world will be destroyed.

With the odds mounting against her, it’ll take everything she has within her to wake up from death. But the rules are constantly changing. And someone wants her to stay dead.

27-year-old Homicide Detective Callie rescues a little girl from dying, only to end up in hell, and asked to work to prevent the death of the god of wealth!
Who is trying to kill the god of wealth? And how is Callie supposed to find them and stop them?

This book was okay, but I can’t say I really enjoyed it.

Callie was okay, but occasionally she just annoyed me. I didn’t get why she thought it was a good idea to just throw herself at some monster, how exactly is that supposed to be a good way to defend someone against an evil monster?

The storyline was a bit unbelievable in places, and I also found it pretty dull. All the way through I kept hoping that it would get better, or I would get to the end, and unfortunately the end came first.
There was some romance, which I thought was okay, but it couldn’t really save the book for me.
The ending was okay, although the epilogue left Callie in an interesting predicament, which she seemed to think was good! To be honest though I was just glad I was at the end.
Overall; an okay but dull paranormal/fantasy novel.
6 out of 10.
