20-year-old Cam has been through a lot in her life, and her best friend’s boyfriend hitting on her, her best friend blaming her for it, and a lacklustre job finally push her too far, and she decides to just leave.
Taking a few possessions she gets on a bus to Idaho with no real plan in mind other than to be somewhere else for a while.
On the bus she meets a boy called Andrew Parrish, a boy who talks to her even when she’s not interested, and saves her from a man on the bus with a proposition for her.
Where is Cam really going though? What will she discover on the way? And is Andrew Parrish her future?
Yikes, what to say about this book? I thought I might have to send the author hate mail at one point, but thankfully the day was saved, so Jessica – you’re safe.
The characters in this book were great. Cam didn’t want to waste her life, and was gutsy enough to take the bull by the horns and just do something about it, and I loved Andrew’s charm and his cheeky nature.
There was quite a bit of sex in this book, and it was pretty steamy and good! The feelings between Cam and Andrew also built up gradually, so nothing felt rushed.
I liked the romance between the two of them and they made a really sweet couple. I loved the story behind Andrew’s tattoo, and I loved how being with Andrew made Cam realise some things about herself and her past relationships.
The storyline was pretty good, and although it was mainly about the two of them discovering their feelings for one another and what they wanted to do with their lives there was one hell of a plot twist waiting to sucker-punch you right at the end, and that’s when I had to read whilst hiding behind my fingers just in case there wasn’t a happy ending! I was seriously worried there for a while!
Anyway, I’m not going to spoil the ending, but let’s just say that I was satisfied!
Overall; a great contemporary romance.
8 out of 10.
